This fine art book draws from a decade of Reinbold’s photography of the California Missions and involves the manual manipulation of Polaroid SX-70 emulsions. The painterly look that this process creates with the manipulated images intrigue everyone who experiences them. “It was fun to see what entirely new image I could produce from a photo of most any subject,” says Reinbold. “Instead of just making an image of something already in existence, I was really creating a totally new image, an altered reality if you will, of something that I had photographed. Being in total control of an image throughout the entire creative process is very important to an artist. This photographic style gave me that ability more than any other type of photography with which I had ever been involved.”
